The training was under a project on Strengthening Regional Support to National Forest Monitoring Systems for REDD+ in the Pacific began to be implemented by FAO with funding from UN-REDD at the beginning of 2014. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community through their SPC Geoscience and Land Resources Divisions. Solomon Islands was part of the training. The training was mainly on national forest inventory (NFI) and the process of measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) as part of the National Forest Monitoring Systems (NFMS).
